DanceSCAPES is collaboration between Kevin and a number of South West dance artists, each working in a location that is meaningful and inspiring for them. The landscapes, therefore, reflect many things: a dancer’s childhood, family, holidays, places that have inspired works. The spaces the dancers occupy are personal and meaningful and the resulting images capture the movement of the dancer in the landscape. Each photograph demonstrates a narrative unique to each dancer.

This project explores the landscape of the West Country through a dancer’s eyes using shape, shadow and light to create dynamic images that challenge our perception of dance. Kevin’s process of working allows each dancer to ‘own’ the space first and be photographed second. These photographs established Kevin's reputation as a dance photographer who brings the dancer's perspective to the fore of his work.
